From the Fair
Fair Access for the Deaf (FAD) is always at
the New York State Fair
in Syracuse, as it has
been since 1988. The Fair runs for 12 days in late August thru Labor Day.
FAD brings sign language
interpreters from all over New York State.
Everyday many events
interpreted, including shows about stunt dog teams, bears,
sea lions,
birds of prey, police dogs, cooking, scuba diving, rainforests, exotic animals,
rappelling, and police target shooting. Children enjoy live stage shows, magic
and puppets.
The free evening
concerts at Chevrolet Court are interpreted with reserved seating in front.
Schedules of interpreted
events are available during the Fair.
There are
printed copies at the Guest
Relations Booth across from the Main Gate.
